Stephen Steyn is an architect, lecturer and ceramicist based in Tshwane. In 2023 he designed the South African Pavilion at the 18^th Venice Biennale while serving as one of three curators on the project. He is a full-time lecturer at the Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Architecture and Industrial Design where he teaches the Master of Architecture: Architectural Technology studio and coordinates the theory and history programmes. He is pursuing a PhD in Art and Design at the Graduate School of Architecture at the University of Johannesburg. His research is focused on the potential applications of architectural representation to the political transformation of organizations.
