Felicity Atekpe is an architect, designer, academic and Associate Professor in Architecture & Practice at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. With over twenty years of experience as both a practitioner and educator, she has developed a broad expertise spanning architecture, urban landscapes, and interior environments. As Director of Practice and Design of Practice at The Bartlett, Felicity provides academic leadership across all programmes, championing innovative pedagogies, ethical practice, and alternative qualification routes for aspiring built environment professionals.

Her work is dedicated to advancing critical practices that address both individual and public realms, reimagining the design and teaching of architecture for future generations. Felicity’s research explores themes of home and belonging – particularly from a neurological perspective – equitable urban landscapes, and the significance of the Everyday in architectural discourse. She was written widely on topics such as Domestic Moods, the role of home and the Everyday, Care, and the potential connections between anthropology and architectural education.

Felicity has played a significant role in shaping architectural education in the UK, having served as a Commissioner for the ARB Professional Practice Experience (PPE), where she contributed to reforms set to transform the profession. In addition, she consults on Planning Design Codes, influencing policy and practice across the country.

Previously, Felicity founded White Table Architects, a practice dedicated to sustainable urban design and innovative small-scale infrastructure projects that enrich urban environments. Her practice specialised in sustainable design, interiors, architectures, and landscape, reflecting her commitment to ethical and impactful design solutions.

With more than two decades of experience as an educator, Felicity has led and examined programmes in architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design at leading institutions across the UK and Ireland. Her academic interests include the development of innovative pedagogies, the role of ethics and education, alternative routes to qualification, and the pursuit of equitable urban landscapes. Throughout her career, Felicity Atekpe has remained committed to advancing the discipline through critical, inclusive, and forward-thinking approaches to both education and practice.
